Blue Sage Smudge Stick: Grown, Harvested, and Hand Tied on Our Farm
From Our Fields to Your Sacred Space
Our blue sage smudge sticks are a true farm to spirit product. We grow the blue sage ourselves right here in Guthrie, tend it through the growing season, harvest it at its peak, and hand tie every bundle with care. Nothing is outsourced. Nothing is imported. Every smudge stick carries the energy of our Oklahoma soil and the hands that grew it.
What Is Blue Sage?
Blue sage is known for its cleansing and purifying properties. Unlike white sage, which is often over harvested, difficult to cultivate, and hold significant religious significance to many First People cultures, blue sage grows readily on our farm and regenerates year after year. Its aroma is soft, sweet, and earthy, making it a gentle choice for regular use.
How We Make Our Smudge Sticks
Grow: We plant blue sage starts each spring in our herb beds.
Tend: The plants receive organic care throughout the season.
Harvest: We cut the sage at peak potency, usually mid to late summer.
Bundle: Fresh sage is gathered into small bundles and hand tied with natural cotton cord.
Dry: Bundles hang in our drying room for several weeks until completely cured.
Trim: Each finished smudge stick is trimmed and prepared for you.
How to Use Your Smudge Stick
Light the tip of the bundle until it catches a small flame. Gently blow out the flame, allowing the sage to smolder and produce smoke. Move the smudge stick around your space, yourself, or your belongings with intention. Always use a heat safe bowl or abalone shell to catch any falling ash. When finished, press the tip firmly into your bowl or sand to extinguish completely.
Why Our Smudge Sticks Are Different
Locally Grown: Not imported. Not wild harvested from threatened populations. Grown intentionally on our farm.
Hand Tied: Every bundle is wrapped by hand, never machine made.
Small Batch: We harvest and tie in small quantities to ensure quality and care.
Native Women Owned: Our farm is owned and operated by a native woman, and our practices honor traditional relationships with plants.
Sustainable: Blue sage is a renewable crop on our farm. We plant more each year than we harvest.
